YORK, Pa. – West Chester University men’s swimming claimed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship title for the 22nd season in a row.

The Golden Rams clung to a lead all four days, ultimately winning with 830 points. Bloomsburg University came in second with 691 points, and Gannon University finished third with 514 points.

WCU sophomore Collin Pettit (Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) took the gold medal in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 15 minutes and 45.07 seconds.

Another West Chester sophomore in Logan Brockway (York, Pa. / Dallastown) earned second place in the 200 backstroke with a finals time of 1:51.20.

The Golden Rams’ 400 freestyle relay team also earned silver in 3:03.52. That relay squad was made up of Brockway, senior Joao Pedro Barreto (Niteroi, Brazil), freshman Tyler Hall (Lansdale, Pa. / North Penn) and junior Leo Chaves (Brazil).

The top West Chester men’s swimmers will be back in action from March 11-14 at the NCAA National Championships in Ohio.
