As the leaves turn brown and a sudden chill carries in the breeze, such omens bring the tell-tale sign that the summer months are steadily passing us by as autumn soon approaches. With the season steadily fleeting, so do the fun, joyful films that mark the summer season, making room for the upcoming fall releases for 2025. Well into the month of September, with the month of October steadily rising in the distance, many films are racing to be released in theaters to bring audiences and critics alike new nightmares, new frights and new horrors for the fall months!

The first highly anticipated film is the new installment in “The Strangers” film series, “The Strangers: Chapter 2,” (2025).  Serving as the sequel to “The Strangers: Chapter 1,” (2024) the new film, “The Strangers: Chapter 2,” picks up right where the previous film ended, following the life of the main character, Maya, the sole survivor of the three strangers massacre. Learning how to navigate her new life while still shackled to the horrors of the past, Maya must learn to adapt and change to her new normal. But will old foes reappear with a vengeance to finally finish Maya off?  Starring the talents of Madelaine Petsch, Froy Gutierrez and Gabriel Basso, the new film is expected to bring frights, terror and lots of gore that will have everyone talking! Intending to release to theaters on Sept. 26, 2025, “The Strangers: Chapter 2” will really prepare you for the upcoming spooky months!

Next up is the “Black Phone 2” (2025). Following the smash-hit of 2022’s “Black Phone,” starring the talents of Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames and James Ransone, a sequel for the film was inevitable for the studio. Following the fifteen-year-old Gwen, who begins to receive phone calls from the black phone and experiences terrifying visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp, Gwen begins to expect an old foe is back for revenge. With the help of her brother, Fin, the two siblings set forth to end the terror and The Grabber’s evilness once and for all.  Expected to hit theaters on Oct.17, 2025, waste no time in buying a ticket ahead of time to see the “Black Phone 2.”
