Feb. 4, 2018 is a date that will live in the minds of Philadelphia Eagles fans forever. That was the date our Eagles won the Super Bowl LII: the game that debuted the most incredible play in Eagles history, better known as the “Philly Special.” This was the day that brought our city together. Keep this day in mind as we acknowledge everything that the Eagles have accomplished and why, despite the state of this season, the Philadelphia Eagles deserve more dedication and respect from their fans.

First, the Eagles are better than their record. They are one of the top franchises in the NFL. Not only have the Eagles been ranked in the United States, but they have also made the ranks worldwide. According to the 2020 Forbes annual ranking of the world’s most valuable sports teams, the Eagles are ranked No. 23 overall, with a value of $3.05 billion. Year after year, the Eagles have successfully made their way up the franchise ladder in the NFL and are continuing their success.

After the win over Dallas, the Eagles are the number one team in the NFC East. This season has had a rough start in this division as none of the teams in the East are doing particularly well. However, the Eagles have still made their way to first place with three wins, four losses and one tie. Like every other team, they have had their ups and downs, but the Eagles have been relentless this season. To start, Carson Wentz is the division’s best quarterback. He has excelled despite the injuries facing the offensive line. Moreover, receiver Travis Fulgham, a new addition to the team, has pleasantly surprised Eagles fans everywhere. Yes, while specific players have excelled, the defensive line as a whole has been doing great this season and continues to help uphold the team’s stats. Even through their losses, the Eagles continue to show the NFC East that they will rise to the top no matter what gets in their way.

In past years, Eagles fans have received quite a bad reputation due to their passionate actions. Think back to all of the fights that have broken out during tailgates, during games, even after games. Think about how they all started. Most times these fights started with a fan from another team or someone else talking badly about the Eagles. You may not want that as the face of your team, but it shows the dedication from the fans. Eagles fans are rowdy and intense, but they have been the most loyal and misunderstood fans in the league. They “bleed green” and want everyone to know. We need that energy, this season more than ever, to excel.

Sure, there are other teams with stronger records, and the Eagles have lost more games than they’ve won. They are also challenged by the plethora of injuries that each week brings. However, they are still first place in the NFC East and continue to go out and play harder each game. Let’s commend the Eagles for their relentlessness. As fans, we need to be more dedicated and respectful of our Eagles and continue rooting them on — no matter what the scoreboard says.

  1. In case you didn’t realize, the word “Breth” on your site is spelled incorrectly. I had similar issues on my website which hurt my credibility until someone pointed it out and I discovered some of the services like SpellHelper.com or SpellingCheck.com which help with these type of issues.
