It’s week 2 in the regular season for the Golden Rams and it seems like this team is finding their identity early. The offense could only be described as explosive and lethal as they managed to gather up a dominating 610 yards through the air and on the ground combined. The electric A.J. Long continued to churn out touchdowns like a machine by obtaining 275 yards in the air with three scores to go along with 118 rushing yards and another two touchdowns. Bill Zwaan’s committee of running backs produced on a high level as Trael Seegars averaged 5.7 yards per carry while Mark Dukes and Mike Class ran into the endzone for a touchdown each. Dukes also showed his versatility with a touchdown reception from Long. The flashy Rasheem James was once again the leading receiver, going 78 yards on five catches with a touchdown. If you thought the Golden Rams only dominated on the offensive side of the ball, you’re very wrong. The self-named secondary “Strap Street” gave Seton Hill a trip down their road as Safety Jai Thornton picked off a pass in the second quarter and recovered a fumble later on in the game. Fourth-year Cornerback Shaq James also picked off a pass in the third. Senior linebacker Tyler Morrissey led the team in tackles with seven total tackles along with 1.5 sacks. The defensive line penetrated the backfield all afternoon as Omar Peterkin led the line with two sacks. David Simmons, Cole Zapf and Ch’aim Smith also made appearances in the backfield with sacks of their own. The team will be returning to John A. Farrell stadium next weekend to continue their hot streak against Millersville.
