Dear West Chester,

Here’s hoping you had the opportunity to spend some time outside this weekend, as we had some beautiful weather for February. This past Saturday was the first time in awhile that I felt it was actually nice enough to walk into town. That small adventure made me realize just how much I had actually missed it. I know the weather will be dipping back down into the 40s and 30s soon, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Punxsutawney Phil was right and spring is just around the corner.

Some highlights in this week’s issue include an article about WCU alumnus and author Jake Gerhardt on page 3, an article about former Philadelphia 76ers owner Pat Croce on page 4, and an article about Kanye West’s new album by our own Jeffrey Holmes on page 22. We also have some intriguing Op-Ed pieces written by our editorial board members. Consider checking out Rachel Alfiero’s article about female oppression on page 10, my article about Public Safety on page 12, and Samantha Mineroff’s article about benevolent sexism on page 17. And, of course, you should read up on how our sports teams have been doing.

Due to spring break, which is rapidly approaching, next week will be our last issue until March 21, so keep an eye out for our Feb. 29 edition!

Sincerely,

Casey Tobias
