Dear West Chester,

This past weekend was pretty eventful. University Theatre presented their 16th annual AIDS benefit show, which was absolutely amazing. This is the second year in a row I was able to go, and I’m so glad I did. I don’t consider myself to be much of a crier, but I found myself tearing up several times. Each act reflected the cast’s dedication and energy. You can read more about it on page 5.

There was also the Miss WCU pageant that took place on Saturday, Feb. 6. Congratulations to this year’s winner, Ashley Lyles, and to all the other lovely women who took part in the competition! You can read more about the pageant on page 2.

On a separate note, our next issue will not be published until Monday, Feb. 22. Whether you spend time with friends, family, or a significant other, I hope you all enjoy your Valentine’s Day weekend. I’m definitely looking forward to having my parents come visit on that Saturday. It’ll be the first time I’ve seen them since winter break, and the last time I see my dad before his upcoming surgery.

Don’t forget it’s never too late to write for The Quad. All you have to do is get in contact with the appropriate section editor and email them your article idea by 3:30 p.m. on the Tuesday before our issue comes out, and your completed article by that Friday.

Sincerely,

Casey Tobias
