Carrie Underwood gained her fame on American Idol, where she won. After winning American Idol, Carrie Underwood shot to fame, and hasn’t looked back since. She’s won six Grammy Awards, eleven CMA Awards, and she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008. In her spare time, Carrie Underwood managed to get married to hockey player Mike Fisher. The two met backstage at one of her concerts in 2008, and by 2009 the couple was engaged. The duo then got married in 2010.
And now the moment has finally come after waiting four long years, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are expecting their first child! The country sensation announced on Twitter in a creative way that she was pregnant. The star took to Twitter on Labor day and tweeted a picture of the couple’s two dogs, Ace and Penny wearing shirts that say, “I’m the big brother” and “I’m the big sister.” The caption to the photo said, “In honor of ‘Labor Day’ Ace and Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn’t be happier.” The photo got over thirty thousand retweets and over sixty thousand favorites. I know I retweeted it! Countless fans commented on the picture giving her praises and congratulations.
Carrie Underwood already has a little baby bump that she’s flaunting. A couple days after making the big announcement on Twitter, Carrie Underwood performed at the Ravinia Festival, where her baby bump was in full view of the crowd. It is small, but it was visible. She performed both nights over the weekend, and even though she’s pregnant she’s not slowing down yet. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will be hosting the 48th annual CMA Awards on November 5. I’m sure everyone is anxious to see how big her bump is by then! On top of all of that, she is playing an executive producer on an upcoming TV show!
The Country Star already picked up her first pregnancy craving from the supermarket, Ben and Jerry’s Vanilla Ice Cream. Who doesn’t like some Ben and Jerry’s? The pregnancy hormones may already be kicking in as well. On Tuesday night Carrie Underwood was honored with the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award at the ACM Honors, and while giving her speech, tears were shed. Later that night on Instagram, Underwood made fun out of herself for crying in public. She wrote, “Had such a fun Night at the ACM Honors! Now everyone can go back to making fun of me for crying during my speech!”
But wait! Did Carrie Underwood show us her baby bump before the big announcement and we just didn’t notice? On Saturday, two days before she made the big reveal on Labor Day, Carrie Underwood put up a photo on her Instagram of her on the beach fully clothed, hiding her belly! She was standing in the water, in a t-shirt and purple shorts keeping the secret from her fans for just a couple days more.
All of her fans are so happy for her, and they will be keeping on top of her pregnancy waiting to see whether the couple has a powerhouse country starlet or a tough hockey player!
