Swimming & DivingThe West Chester University menʼs swimming and diving team clinched their seventh straight PSAC East title as the womenʼs team clinched their fourth in the last five years Saturday night in Grahamʼs Natatorium. Australian native TammyLeane was named the PSACʼs Outstanding Womenʼs Swimming of the Meet after she shattered the NCAA Division II 400 IM mark by three seconds, posting a mark of 4:17.94. She had shaved an amazing 9.4 seconds off of the preliminary time she posted Friday morning. Naomi Lung of Florida Atlantic held the division II mark in the 400 IM after posting a mark of 4:20.68 in 1991. Leane is the first woman in Division II to break the 4:20.00 mark.

Leane also lead the first place 800-yard free relay team that posted a PSAC meet record of 7:35.85. Katie Kollar, Julie Keefer, and Alexis Parrilla were also members of the winning relay team. Parrilla also captured the 200 free PSAC Championship with a time of 1:51.38, and Ashley Haney took first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.35. However, both swimmers actually set PSAC Championship meet records during their preliminary races Friday morning. Parrilla posted a time of 1:51.23, while Haney turned in 1:04.18.

On the menʼs team, Alec Best, Rob Barnum, Gabe Melo, and Reggie Shearer posted a tome pf 1:32.31 to take first in the 200 medley relay. Hungarian native Levente Nagy-Pal took first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:01.07, setting a PSAC Championship meet record. The Golden Rams remarkably posted six PSAC Championship meet record Friday and collected 22 conference titles throughout three days of competition.

Womenʼs Basketball The West Chester University ʼs womenʼs team destroyed East Stroudsburg 66-44 at home Saturday afternoon. Senior guard Kiesha Mack annihilated the all-time career point total of 1487 held by Cecilia Rodden after tallying a game high 21 points, to reach her career total of 1506 points.

Mack is the first woman to score over 1500 points in hercareer, and is just the eighth Golden Rams basketball player, man or woman, to exceed the 1500 mark. Dominique Lewis posted 12 points in the game on six of seven shots from the field. Dominique Deveaux tallied 10 points, while Malinda Fife recorded 10 rebounds. The Golden Rams will wrap up their regular-season Wednesday night at home against Bloomsburg University.

Baseball

The West Chester University baseball team split their season doubleheader Saturday in Montgomery, WV, beating West Virginia Tech 4-1 in the first game,a nd then falling to WV Tech 4-3 in the second. WCUʼs new head coach Matt Brainard made his debut Saturday.

During the first game, Jeff Brenna pitched a one-hitter to lead the team to victory. He allowed no earned runs, strick out htree, and issued just one walk over seven innings. Joey Yeager brought in two home runs in the first inning for an early lead, while Mark Gillford tallied a base hit for a run.

During the second game, WCU built a 3-0 lead in the second inning after a twin-RBI single from Mike LaRosa, but WV Tech tied the game in the fifth, and then won the game in the bottom of the seventh.
