Before you knew it, the walls disintegrate
A piece of glass left just enough to slightly rebuild what has been broken
But as time goes on there’s a piece that’s missing
A small hole; a hole big enough to gush out
The piece of glass was never thrown away, but taken as a reminder of all that has been done
All that has been seen
And all that has been said
That single piece of glass will always try to be placed back in, but as the walls start to build the glass gets refined
And that piece of glass has nowhere to fit
But as always, that glass was never thrown away
It was taken as an emblem of strength, dignity, love and endurance
And that glass will always be there to see the rest
