She stands before the mirror, a crown unseen,
A force of power, bold and serene.
Melanin kissed by the rising sun,
A battle fought, a war not won.
She smooths her edges, lays them down,
A queen preparing for her crown.
Not the kind they place upon her head,
But the one she carries in every step she treads.
Her reflection whispers, You are enough.
No storm too strong, no road too rough.
She paints her lips, lines her eyes,
Not for approval—but to rise.
For she walks in rooms they said she’d never own,
Speaks with a voice that shakes the throne.
Built from struggle, laced with grace,
A Black girl ready to take her place.
So she stands tall, fierce and steady,
Head high, heart strong—she’s more than ready.
