Sunset sweeps across the sky
And birdsongs in the darkness lie.
A window lit; a porch-light dark
While evening stars carve out a spark.
Crickets sing their twilight tune
As clouds reveal a slice of moon.
Glowing eyes of cat or fox
As bats defy the equinox.
