March 3, 2010 — Currently working on the case of a Mr. Steven Gray, who was arrested for trespassing on private property. He was found inside the basement of the home where he was seen drawing images on the ground with his finger. Mr. Gray was arrested, but witnesses claim that he was ranting and raving like a loon about the jade figurine and evil horrors. The object is now in police possession, but since I’m heading this operation, the department gave it to me for investigation reasons.

When I returned to the station, I inspected the peculiar object and noticed that it was not what I expected to be. Despite appearing to have a smoothed texture, it felt rather rough and course as the figurine itself was about the size of a baseball. The teeth appeared to be razor-sharp as the eyes had dark red rubies embedded in it. There was an odd symbol on the forehead and upon searching for it, I found no matches. I will have to do extensive research to find the origin of this object.

March 5, 2010- After a few days of research, I couldn’t find anything related to this jade skull. The only thing I may have a lead on would be a case file from the Miskatonic University located in Massachusetts. I have sent an email to the college asking if they could send me a copy of the file. Thankfully, they replied, but only to ask me to give them the jade figurine.

Upon doing more research, I discovered there has been a cult that has once terrorized a small—then yet again, everything is small in Rhode Island—town in Rhode Island. The cult first formed in the early 1900s and then mysteriously disappeared in the 30s. I then pondered on the message that Miskatonic sent me, saying that it once belonged to a professor.

They didn’t specify why and I urged them to tell me with good reason why I should give them evidence of a crime.

March 6, 2010 — I got up this morning with heavy, numb eyes and a cold sweat. I checked the weather, seeing that it was supposed to be warmer than the day before. Perhaps I was coming down with an illness. I should play it by ear and see how it goes. When I opened my emails, I saw that Miskatonic responded back, but with little detail. They said the jade figurine is a rare artifact that once belonged to a teacher who taught at the college in the 1930s.

I responded to the college saying if there is nothing tied to figurine, I would send it as soon as I can. I could only hope that I recover from my illness. March 7, 2010 — A dream I had was something out of morbid imagination. I lay chained to an alter where my captors were wearing robes that were stained with blood. Upon looking around with the mobility I had, I noticed that I had an odd symbol marked on my chest and another one on my stomach. Before I can continue to observe the scene, one of the robed figures came to me and knocked me out swiftly. By then, I woke from the dream. I checked my body, relieved that I had no markings on me.

I searched for the symbols that were marked on my body by describing the images on the internet, only to find an old cult that that worked in the university during the same time. Now knowing that this object is likely part of Miskatonic and the cult it once belonged to, it doesn’t matter now for either of them would not get this figurine.

March 9, 2010 — I was finally revealed the truth of everything this evening. I peered into the ruby eyes of the figurine and saw the unimaginable. Ancient, yet otherworldly markings, similar to the one etched in my body from the dream, were branded onto my brain. I now understood what must be done. Unlike Gray, who had nothing to work with, I had the right ingredients in my own body.

It will not be enough room to write it on paper, but my walls are more than enough. With this knowledge, I understand what the dream means and what I needed to do.

March 12, 2010 — Police arrived to the apartment home of detective Nick Tiritch, who is found dead. Upon investigating the home, the walls had odd markings that painted in blood.

An autopsy report revealed that Tiritich slit his own wrist and must have bled out a few days ago. It is unknown if Tiritich went insane and did this on his own accord or was a victim of a ritual.

I myself have found his journal and deduced that he did go insane. However, there are mentions of a jade figurine that was once in his possession. The officers and I search the apartment and could not find such an object. Further investigation is much needed.
