With a 1-0 victory over the Bloomsburg Huskies on Tuesday afternoon, the West Chester Rams advanced to the PSAC tournament semifinals.

The Rams and Huskies met on Vonnie Gross Field at 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon to battle for their spot in the semifinal bracket.

Ram’s sophomore Caitlin Kelly scored the first and only goal of the match. Her reverse shot was sent into the back of the net in the 10th minute of the game.

With tough defense, the Rams held Bloomsburg to four shots and zero goals.

Junior goalie Marissa Elizardo tallied her fourth shutout on the season in this match.

The West Chester Rams had a 17-4 shot advantage against the Huskies.

Wednesday afternoon the PSAC honors were announced.

Kaitlin Hatch, Rachal Toppi, Kelly, Taylor Bracale, Caitie McNamara and Mackenzie Mlkvy were recipients of All-League honors.

Hatch, Toppi, Caracale and Mlkvy all selected First Team as well.

Toppi is currently tied at 82 career goals with Bloomsburg’s Denise Miller. She will be known as one of the best PSAC goal scorers in history.

Later in the week, the Rams traveled to Shippensburg University to face the Raiders in the semifinal match.

The Rams and Raiders met earlier in the season, the Raiders coming out victorious 3-2.

The No. 7 Rams went against the No.1 Raiders Friday afternoon.

Kelly scored another game winning goal in this match. Her shot off the deflection from Hatch was the only goal of the match.

Similar story to the Bloomsburg match, Elizardo added another shutout under her belt. It was her fifth shutout on the season.

There was a total of 23 corners throughout the game.

The Rams and Raiders both had total shots of 18. However, the Rams held the on goal shot advantage 10-7.

With the win over the Raiders the Rams advance to their next game against East Stroudsburg University Sunday at 1 p.m.

The ESU Warriors and the WCU Rams have met once before. The Warriors were victorious in the previous match-up with a 2-0 win.
