Welcome to the best week at West Chester University; it’s homecoming week!

Every year, the homecoming committee works very hard to put together a week full of fun, laughter, and excitement leading up to the Saturday of homecoming.

Each year there is a different theme for the week, and different activities every day for students to participate in showing their WCU pride.

By taking part in activities throughout this week, you get the chance to win a 2015 West Chester University homecoming shirt designed by own of our very own students.

This year the committee has worked very hard to put together an incredible week of Rams in the Sand!

The homecoming committee president Kali Iovino expressed her excitement: “Homecoming is my favorite week of the year! It brings together students from all corners of campus. I hope as many people can join us in the different events that we are putting on throughout the week and everyone has a fun homecoming!”

This year the week is chocked-full of amazing activities.

On Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Under the Boardwalk will be held in Sykes.

Even though there is no boardwalk ,all the classic boardwalk activities will be there to enjoy.

Tuesday gives everyone the chance to enjoy a nice vacation without even leaving campus; it is the Dub Sea Luau from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There will be free food, giveaways, and beach games.

Wednesday, come to Sykes ballroom from 7:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for the Pep Rally and show your support for WCU.

At 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sykes is hosting Sand Trap by the Sea; bring your friends to play some mini golf and treat yourself to sweet cotton candy.

Friday night, Sykes after Dark will be twisted into Sharks after Dark.

Go see how long you can last on the mechanical shark, try surfing a few waves on the surfboard stimulator, or participate in shark stuff-a-plush.

10 a.m. Saturday morning is the big homecoming parade!

Come watch groups dance, chant and sing all dressed up.

At 2 p.m., head down to the football stadium decked out in purple and gold to support our WCU football team as they take on Bloomsburg.

To finish off the festivities, Community adopt a block and breakfast will take place at 10 a.m. outside on the Sykes patio Sunday morning.

At each event you have the opportunity to vote for our homecoming King and Queen.

Also log on to Twitter and look up @wcuhomecoming for more details every day or hashtag from the festivities with #ramsinthesand.

This is definitely a week not to miss! All the festivities, pride and excitement are a reminder why we all love West Chester University.

Be sure to check out all the activities happening this week; you will definitely not be disappointed!
