Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout, and Amber Portwood returned to MTV on Monday, March 23 for the premiere of “Teen Mom OG,” and a lot has changed since they were last on television.

Catelynn and Tyler, who put their first daughter, Carly, up for adoption when they were 17, found out in the season premiere that they were going to have another baby, and they couldn’t be more thrilled. Tyler wiped away tears when Catelynn told him the news and said, “I can’t wait to hold it.”

Catelynn and Tyler’s struggles with putting their first daughter up for adoption were chronicled on the first few seasons of “Teen Mom.” Putting up their child for adoption created extreme family drama, especially from Catelynn’s mom, April. Catelynn said multiple times that putting Carly up for adoption ruined her relationship with her mother.

In the first episode of “Teen Mom OG,” April and Catelynn seemed to have been working on their relationship, and April seemed very excited by the news that she was going to be a grandmother. Tyler’s mom, on the other hand, didn’t seem as thrilled at the news.

When Tyler sat down and told his mom the news, she brought up the fact that they weren’t married yet and looked concerned.

“Marriage does not make good kids. Good people raise good kids,” Tyler told his mom.

It should be interesting to see what happens with their wedding planning and the pregnancy over the course of the season.

Maci is also going to announce her pregnancy sometime during this first season of the show. Maci is in her final year of college, and her boyfriend, Taylor McKinney, moved in with her and Bentley. One thing hasn’t changed with Maci, and that is the drama with her ex-fiancé Ryan Edwards.

Ryan still doesn’t like being in any form of contact with Bentley’s mom, and that is evident in the first episode. Maci called Ryan on the phone to talk to him about how he needs to be more of a father to Bentley, and he hung up on her.

He then proceeded to tell his girlfriend that he “doesn’t have time for Maci and what she has to say.”

Maci had to resort to talking to Ryan’s mom, and she suggested that Maci email Ryan, but Maci was skeptical. She told her boyfriend Taylor that, “If this doesn’t work, I’m done.”

Everybody will have to tune in each week to see how Ryan and Maci navigate their complicated relationship.

After spending 18 months in jail, Amber Portwood was released, and she is now living in her own home and learning how to stay sober and control her temper.

Drama always seems to find Amber. While her relationship with Gary, the father of her child, Leah, seemed to be civil (at the moment), her relationship with her mother Tonya was still rocky.

Amber and her mother got into a fight while they were at a spa getting their nails done. Amber’s mom called Gary evil, and that set Amber off.

“You don’t say somebody’s evil,” Amber told her mom. “He is the father of my child, and he’s taken care of my child in the past when I was put away.”

Amber’s mom ended up leaving the room and yelling at the producers about Amber.

The biggest change this season was that Farrah Abraham was not in the first episode of the season, and the moms were under the impression that she was not going to be included in the season at all. The only time Farrah made an appearance at all was when Catelynn and Tyler went to the reunion special of Couple’s Therapy and spoke to Farrah face to face.

Farrah blasted Catelynn and Tyler for not being married before having their second child, which turned into a heated argument. Catelynn responded to Farrah by asking her to admit she was a porn star so they could all move on.

The drama does not stop there with Farrah. Previews at the end of Monday’s episode show that she is coming back sometime this season and the moms are not excited about it. Maci spoke to the producers, telling them, “I do not want my son around somebody like her.”

Tune in every Monday night at 10 p.m. to MTV to find out how the drama plays out and stay updated on the moms’ lives.
