October 14th, 6:30pm. At SGA’s second Council of Organizations meeting, West Chester Police Sgt. O’Donnell announced increased security measures for West Chester University’s homecoming this Saturday. In past years, officers on patrol during homecoming weekend numbered between five and six. For this weekend, O’Donnell stated there would be 26 uniformed officers on duty.

In the past few years, homecoming has become “borderline out-of-control.”

The stated goal of the police is to make homecoming a safe experience for the university and the borough. Sgt. O’Donnell stated: “We are not out to make homecoming stressful for the university and borough communities, but there are consequences to irresponsible behavior, and we will enforce the law.”
