What’s one thing that you can’t live without? One of the most popular answers, at least it’s my answer, is music. Music surrounds our society nowadays and the High Street Harmonix are aware of the impact music has in the world. High Street Harmonix is an all male a cappella group on campus filled with men from all different majors and backgrounds. High Street’s goal is to bring great sounding renditions of popular songs to WCU and other campuses in Pennsylvania and beyond.
With mash-ups of Zedd, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Macklemore, High Street Harmonix is a group from this century bringing you the best of the best. Not only do they bring this modern spin of a cappella to West Chester, but to many other schools too. Last spring, the University of Pittsburgh’s C-flat Run welcomed the Harmonix to do a joint concert. The group traveled by car to Pittsburgh for the weekend and completed their first road trip concert. Earlier in the spring High Street welcomed the University of Delaware’s Deltones to join us for our spring concert.
With the new school year upon us, there are big plans that the group plans to put into place. With auditions just finishing up this past weekend, the group looks forward to adding new talent for all of their adventures this year. In just a few weeks on Oct. 3, the group reunites with the Deltones; this time with the concert being held in Delaware. The biggest event on the calendar is the group’s plan to audition for the ICCA (International Championship of Colligate A Cappella). There will be so much more happening that the group is very excited about.
Want to know more about the group and keep up with the events? That’s easy!
