The newest celebrity reality show this season, “House of Carters,” follows Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his four siblings as they move into a Los Angeles home and cameras record the chaos that takes place. The E! channel follows the lives of Nick, Bobbie Jean, Leslie, Angel and Aaron as they move into a house to reconnect as siblings, living under one roof for the first time in 10 years. The Carter family has been in the tabloids over the years; their parents’ rocky divorce in 2003, accusations of stealing money, Nick’s relationship with Paris Hilton and Aaron’s recent proposal to a Playboy Playmate, an ex of Nick, and then the end of the engagement six days later.

Nick, 26, earned his claim-to-fame as a member of the popular boy band, the Backstreet Boys. He was voted one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People” in 2000 and Cosmo Girl’s “Sexiest Man in the World” by online voters in 2002. He released a solo album in 2002 and then returned to BSB to record more albums with the group. He dated socialite Paris Hilton in late 2003 and a heavily publicized break-up early in 2004 followed when Hilton was photographed with bruises all over her face and arms.

Aaron, 18, has had a solo music career since the age of seven. He entered the tabloid world when dating Lindsay Lohan and Hillary Duff simultaneously, causing a cat-fight between the pop stars. Most recently he has been in the news after proposing to his Playmate girlfriend of five days, Kari Ann Peniche, and then breaking off the engagement and calling it a “mistake.”

The female siblings of the Carter clan have lived in the shadow of their brothers’ fame over the years. Bobbie Jean (B.J.), 24, has been known for her drunken outbreaks and fights with females, for which she has been arrested twice and her mug shot appears on thesmokinggun.com. Leslie, 20, tried her luck at singing and recorded a debut album in 2000 with DreamWorks Records; however the CD was never released. Angel, 18, is Aaron’s twin, born one minute before him. An aspiring model, Angel is currently in a female music group and hoping to have the same success in the music industry as her brothers have had.

The season premiere featured the family moving into a lush house in the hills of Los Angeles, while the sisters fought over which bedroom to take and Nick attempted to use a grill. Nick took the “father role,” telling his siblings what time to go to bed and how to act appropriately.

The chaos began when B.J. was portrayed as a drunk, sipping on her drinks throughout the entire episode. Nick later lectures her on the difference between being “a drunk” and “drinking too much.” Nick and Aaron get into a physical fight on camera, in the end throwing punches at one another. Nick later reveals that Aaron took Hilton out on a date days after Nick broke off the relationship and he cannot trust his brother.

The siblings discuss their parents’ divorce and the effect it has had on each other. Their mother contacts Nick for money and he is depicted as the “bad guy” by his siblings for not wanting to give it to her.

While promoting “House of Carters,” Nick and Aaron toured the media circuit, stirring up controversy while talking about past relationships. Nick revealed that he lost his virginity to sex offender Debra LaFave, the Florida schoolteacher who had sex with a 13-year-old pupil. The Backstreet Boy revealed to Howard Stern he dated LaFave for 18 months when they were classmates, but ditched her after learning “she had cheated on me with a girl.”

Nick also spoke up about his break up with Paris Hilton, revealing that he cheated on her with Ashlee Simpson. He said that after hearing Hilton had cheated on him with Chad Michael Murray, he took revenge and cheated on her. Nick later apologized via the radio to Simpson about announcing the rumor and Simpson denies any relations with Nick.

Aaron also talked about his sexual conquests, revealing to Howard Stern that he and Hillary Duff lost their virginity to each other. He also spoke about past relationships with Brooke Hogan, daughter of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, and Lindsay Lohan.
