Gay novelist Victor Banis speaks at WCU

Discussions of the sexual revolution, censorship and civil rights filled Philips Autograph Library on Tuesday, April 4, as best-selling author and gay pioneer Victor Banis educated the audience about “The Struggle for Gay Equality: Yesterday and Tomorrow.””Don’t take anything for granted because the bastards are out to get us!” said Banis, referring to the federal government’s attempt to use censorship against homosexuality. He expressed that he wants young adults today to “be aware of what’s going on.”
