Fellow students,I hope you are all having a wonderful semester both in and out of the classroom. This academic year is off to a great start and onto an even better spring semester.
Congratulations to the Homecoming Committee for a very successful Homecoming 2008: WCU Rocks! Activities, taking place 10/15-10/18, included a pep rally and parade, featuring some of WCU’s finest. Saturday afternoon, the football game vs. Shippensburg was a huge success: 25-7.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is also keeping very busy! Voting Day is quickly approaching on 11/4. To prepare for the festivities, SGA is holding an Election Night party that evening in the Sykes Ballrooms from 8:30pm-1:30am. Activities include live coverage of the voting polls, games, mocktails, and much more! This is a nonpartisan event and all are welcome. Also on 11/4, Student Affairs is sponsoring polling transportation for residents of South Campus. Transportation will pick up residents at the Village Clubhouse and transport to the designated polling location, the Art Association. Please take advantage of this opportunity to let your voice be heard!
Lastly, please keep your eyes and ears peeled for an open ARAMARK Forum. The current ARAMARK contract allows for two 1-year extensions at the contract’s expiration. That contract is expiring soon and administration is pushing to extend the contract. This open forum will give students the opportunity to ask questions and address concerns to upper administration. More information will be announced soon!
