Dear Editor,
Before the University makes any commitment for large scale campus artwork, it would be wise to use the expertise of the faculty and students in the Art department. To me, school spirit is not having a 2000-pound sculpture of our mascot; it is having respect for our academic programs and relying on them to advise us on communal decisions.
As for my own inexpert opinion, I would say the ram seems to belong to an art genre known as “schlock.”
