To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to bring your attention to one of West Chester’s students who is doing, what I think, is remarkable for a college student. His name is Kevin Preston, my son. Kevin and a small group of 10 runners are traveling to Dublin, Ireland on Oct. 29 and competing in the Dublin Marathon, 26.2 miles. Kevin and our group are doing this to raise money for a friend who just recently passed away from Cancer, Tom Ferguson. The money raised will go to Tom’s son Andrew, helping with his future education. Our group is also donating in Ferguson’s name to various people who are suffering from the effects of this terrible disease. More information is available on our web site www.runfortom.com. I know that Kevin does not want any recognition, but I think it’s important to recognize deeds such as this. We are very proud of you, Kevin.
