The ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha are celebrating their fourth annual Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, October 4th 2008. Zeta Tau Alpha promotes breast cancer awareness as their philanthropy and works to educate the importance and significance breast cancer has in the world today. According to the American Cancer Society, in 2007, approximately 40,460 women were expected to die from breast cancer. As well as, 2,030 cases of breast cancer were expected to occur among men. The sorority itself last year raised close to $3,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
This year, Zeta Tau Alpha hopes to exceed that donation in efforts to helps others affected by this disease. Registration starts at 12 p.m. on Saturday in Sykes Student Union ballrooms. There will be a minimum donation of $5 at the door. Along with raffles, prizes, and information there will be a guest speaker attending to tell their story about how breast cancer has affected their lives and loved ones. Come out and support the ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha while they try to put an end to breast cancer.
