New disc adds depth to ‘Watchmen’

“The Black Freighter,” part of the long and storied “Watchmen” universe, came out direct to DVD last week, also coupling a fake-documentary “Under the Hood” in the release to expand on parts of the graphic novel left out of the theatrical release of the film. Parts of the original graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons: both tales are “stories within the story” in the graphic novel, pulling in different themes and history of the overarching universe created for the story.
