WCU women’s lacrosse pounded the ladies from East Stroudsburg on south campus Tuesday afternoon. Kathleen Sheehan made her way into the WCU record books for rackin up 200 career points. On Tuesday, March 23rd, East Stroudsburg came into town looking for their first PSAC win of the year. East Stroudsburg was sitting on a two and one record, with their one loss in the PSAC. West Chester University was a perfect three and zero with two of their wins coming in the PSAC.

It didn’t take WCU too long to score the goals they needed to win the game. After the first half it was 9 to 2. WCU posted an awesome 18 shots in the first half and showed their depth when a lot of their starting players didn’t play in the second half. The girls in purple and gold recorded 12 goals on 18 shots to close the game out with an impressive 21 to 3 win.

Kathleen Sheehan recorded her 200th career point in the victory, and Kristin McGoldrick posted an eight-point game. Other high scorers in the win were Katelyn Martin with five goals and Caitlin Pettit with three. Sheehan and other players will be recognized for their accomplishments at the end of the season.

The girls will have a lot of difficult competitors in the remaining games of the season. They are looking for a PSAC championship, so come out and support them whenever you can.
