Last Saturday, the West Chester University’s baseball team lost a heart breaking double-header to Kutztown University. The Golden Rams were up for most of the game until Kutztown scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat West Chester 3-2 and eliminate the Golden Rams from the PSAC post-season.The loss to Kutztown, along with Mansfield’s victory over Bloomsburg in the first game of their doubleheader, eliminated WCU from returning to the PSAC playoffs for the second straight season.WCU dropped the second game 4-0, falling to 35-10-2 overall and 12-8 in the PSAC East. Even though the Rams regular season is now over, you can still go down to South Philadelphia to support them when they face The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the brand new Citizen’s Bank Park in Philadelphia for the 2004 Bill Giles Invitational Division II Championship.

Throughout the regular season the Rams have handled the Devils pretty well. In the two previous games these two teams faced each other, the Golden Rams have won convincingly. The first time they faced each other was on April 6 at WCU. The Rams won 14-4. Then less than a week later, WCU beat them 12-1.

The game against the Golden Rams and the Devils will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 27. Try to make it a night and support your West Chester University Golden Rams for the last time this season. Tickets are only $5 at the door.
