Dear West Chester,

I hope all is going well with classes so far! It’s crazy that three weeks have already flown by; before we know it, it will officially be fall (I know I personally can’t wait). Fall is my absolute favorite season: cool breezes, burnt-colored leaves, chunky sweaters and scarves, the aroma of coffee and hot chocolate, pumpkin patches and haunted houses. Fall just has something special about it (PLUS who doesn’t love Halloween?).

Anyways, make sure to check out some of the wonderful articles we have running in the paper this week! If you’ve ever been interested in studying abroad, check out Hannah Tollen’s article on page 7 about the Study Abroad Fair that occurred this past Wednesday. In addition, check out a new column that has been added to Features: new feats in science and how they relate to West Chester by Abbey Bigler on page 9! This week’s article talks about how the Zika virus could potentially be used to treat aggressive brain cancer.

I’d like to wish you all continued luck as you maneuver your way through school—freshmen and seniors alike. West Chester has so many great opportunities, so make sure to be staying up to date on all the latest happenings right here in The Quad! Perhaps you, yourself, would like to make a contribution about an important club or organization in your life, or maybe you have a strong opinion on something happening in the news right now. Email us! We’re always looking to get people’s voices out there and heard, so always feel free to share your unique voice.

In addition, I’d like to announce that our staff has implemented newsroom/office hours! My personal office hours are 2-3:30 p.m. on Thursdays, but everyone holds different hours. Stop by our office, Sykes 253, to check out the hours posted on the window; we’re always here to help with your writing!
