Women?s BasketballOn Saturday, West Chester University women?s basketball team clinched a PSAC Eastern Division playoff berth after defeating Mansfield University 79-57. This will be the 10th year in a row the Golden Rams will be heading to the PSAC playoffs.
Justine Pfaff dropped 17 points for the Golden Rams, and Kiesha Mack scored 15 points and had four steals in the game.
Mack is only 15 points away from setting the all-time scoring mark in WCU women?s basket-ball history.
This victory moved the Golden Rams to 7-1 in the Eastern Division, 16-8 overall, making them tied for first place in the East with Millersville. The Golden Rams will visit the Golden Bears of Kutztown University Wednesday night at 6 p.m.

Indoor Track

The West Chester University men?s indoor track team finished in fourth place, while the women ?s team finished in sixth Saturday in Kutztown at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Challenge.
The women finished with 47 points, putting them in sixth out of seven teams, and the men tallied 82 points, taking fourth out of seven.
The women were led by Lori Belinsky who won the pole vault event with a height of 10 feet, 9 inches. Jen Butler, also of WCU, tied Belinsky?s clearance, but the gold went to Belinksy based on fewer jumps. Nicole James of WCU also won the shot put with a throw of 44-7 1/2.
The men?s team was lead by Nehemiah Leary, who took first in the long jump with a distance of 23-3 1/2. He also placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 51.14. Ryan Waltermyer took second place in the 800 meter event with a time of 1:58.46 Eric Broadbent went on to take first in the high jump with a height of 6-6, and first in the triple jump with a distance of 44-4 3/4.
Jim Collins won the weight throw for WCU with a throw of 48-10 1/2. He also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 51-0.
