State Rep. (PA-161) and Congressional Candidate (PA-7) Bryan Lentz will headline a Congressional Candidate Rally being held at West Chester University on Tuesday Feb. 2, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Philips Autograph Library, located on the corner of University Ave. and High St. in West Chester, PA.
Lentz, who is coming to the WCU campus at the invitation of the College Democrats, a student-led organization located in the department of political science and public affairs, will be joined by democratic Congressional Candidates Lois Herr (PA-16), Doug Pike (PA-6) and Manan Trivedi (PA-6).
West Chester covers the 16th Congressional district of Pennsylvania, while the 6th and 7th districts rests at the eastern edge of the Borough.
“This event will be very exciting, you can’t beat having four possible future congressmen and women in the same room talking about the issues that matter,” Shane Seaver, president of the College Democrats said. “Given the importance of the upcoming elections, it will be interesting to hear these candidates speak.”
Among the event organizers is Yvonne Page, secretary of the College Democrats. “It’s exciting to feature speakers like Lentz, Herr, Pike and Trivedi. It’s important for all WCU students to be involved and up to date in local and national politics, and events like this are a great way to increase that involvement,” Page said.
The event is free and open to WCU students, faculty, staff and the community. For more information, contact Seaver at (610) 888-5236 or via e-mail at WCUCollegeDems@gmail.com.
