For the second straight year, the fraternities of Pi Kappa Phi and Sigma Pi will face off in a seven on seven football game to promote inter-fraternalism and to raise money for Camp Dream Catcher. This year the fraternities hope to raise over $2,000 dollars for the philanthropy. The game will take place at Farris Stadium on Thursday, Apr. 9th with the gates opening at 7 p.m. This is a rematch of the Fall Intramural Football Championship, where Pi Kappa Phi upset the number one seeded Sigma Pi, by a score of 13 to 7.

Sigma Pi hopes to return the favor, brother Matt Mickey said, “They got the best of us last time, but come Thursday we’re ready.”

The Pi Cup is very competitive, but it is all in good fun and displays unity in the Greek system. The last game saw attendance of a few hundred students and alumni, and this year there is hope for a bigger turnout. Tickets cost $3 dollars at the door, with raffles and 50-50 tickets being sold in the first half and the winners announced at halftime. All are encouraged to attend; it is a great event with an even greater cause behind it.
