West Chester entered their game against East Stroudsburg with high expectations. It was set to be a big match up, as before the season, East Stroudsburg was picked to win the PSAC East. The first game started off close, and was a back and fourth battle until the end. The game was tied several times, including being knotted up at 29-29. As close as it was however, West Chester was able to keep it together and pull away with the 31-29 win.

Game two also started out similarly. The score was tied a few times for the first few points. Unlike the first game however, West Chester started to pull away and found themselves up 10-4 with East Stroudsburg calling a time out. The time out called by East Stroudsburg, presumably to regroup, did not have that effect however as the Lady Rams also went on to take that game 30-18.

In the third and what ultimately turned out to be the final game of the match, West Chester for the most part, controlled the match. The Lady Rams went on to win the game 30-19 and took the match to keep their undefeated mark and improve to 14-0.

“We are extremely pleased to be undefeated”Head Coach Kassie Bellaver said after the match. It’s a fantastic start to conference play to beat the team picked to win the PSAC East,”

Two days later the Lady Rams were back in action as they crossed the border into New Jersey to do battle with Felician.

West Chester made easy work of Felician defeating them in three straight games with scores of 30-8, 30-13, and 30-11 to take the match and improve to 15-0.

On Saturday, the Lady Rams were once again on the road for a showdown with Kutztown. As someone once said, all good things must come to an end, and the end of West Chester’s undefeated streak ended as the Lady Rams were defeated by Kutztown two games to three. With the loss, West Chester is now 15-1.

The Rams look to rebound this week as they continue their PSAC conference play against Shippensburg at Shippensburg Tuesday at 7PM.
