Some students are waiting patiently for their chance to live in the lap of luxury at West Chester University?s new addition to South Campus, The
Village. But if you?re a freshman, you?ll be waiting a lot longer. The Village at West Chester University has luxurious apartments
that include four single rooms with full size beds, two full baths, a kitchen and dining area and a fully furnished living area.

Each apartment also includes a washer and dryer, and utilities such as Internet, phone, and cable. Students also have access to the clubhouse, which includes a fitness center and game room

“I love the housing. [The Village] feels like a hotel resort,” said Liz March, a student at WCU.

“I wish there was a pool here. That would make it even more of a luxury,” said March.

Some apartments are still under construction. Students assigned to live in those buildings are currently residing in Ramsey Hall. Once they move into The Village, Ramsey Hall will be vacant for repairs.

Susie Gill, Assistant Manager of College Park Communities, said, “Some students are experiencing phone and LAN issues, and the university is working on it.”

The rest of the apartments are expected to be online by late

October. “At that time, the complex will be completely occupied,” said Gill.

For students interested in living at The Village, there is a waiting list for the spring and fall semesters of 2005. If you would like to be added to the list, go to www. wchousing.com.

Freshmen are not permitted to live at The Village, but they can try to
be considered for housing once they are sophomores.

As for parking, students will not get a ticket for not having a sticker, but you will be ticketed for parking illegally in front of the clubhouse. Residents of The Village can use the South Campus Apartments parking lot, or Q-Lot.
