O’Mara wins at Evan Parker

West Chester University women’s golf senior Meghan O’Mara (Sayville, N.Y. / Sayville) won the Evann Parker Memorial that featured 99 golfers on Friday and Saturday.

O’Mara, leading a Golden Rams team that finished fifth of 12, shot a two-day total of 147 (72, 75).

Freshman Alexandra Lowder (Wrightsville, Pa/ Eastern York) finished second among West Chester golfers and 29th in the field in her first collegiate tournament with a score of 175 (87, 88).

West Chester senior Angela Masseria (Staten Island, N.Y. / Tottenville) and sophomore Emily Centofante (Valley Forge, Pa. / Conestoga) tied for 44th with 182 strokes apiece.

The Golden Rams recorded a 686 team score with consistent marks of 341 and 345 over the two days.

Gannon University won the team title at 656 (322, 334) strokes. WCU continues competing on Sunday and Monday at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic in Erie, Pa.
