Athletes of the Week

Excerpts from

Mullin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) had another stellar week in goal this week recording two shutouts including one over No. 11 Kutztown in a great midweek battle. Mullin has played exceptionally well all season allowing just two goals over the course of 804 minutes in goal for a goals against average of just 0.22. Last week was no exception as Mullin recorded 12 saves on the week making five big saves against rival and nationally-ranked Kutztown before making another seven strong saves against an upset minded Edinboro squad on Saturday morning. Mullin’s consistency between the pipes has played a major role in helping West Chester to start the season with a solid 7-1-1 record.

Lex Rosario put up career numbers with a game-high 13 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown in West Chester’s 28-21 victory Saturday. Rosario’s 47-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference, giving WCU an insurmountable 14-point lead. His 13 catches is the fourth-most in a single game in school history and his 193 yards receiving is good for a spot on the school’s Top 10 single-game list. Veteran wide receiver, who the coaching staff feels is ready for a breakout season … this is the year that he needs to show the coaching staff what he can do … has been working diligently over the summer to improve his route running and timing with the quarterbacks … has shown flashes of what he is capable.
