Rams women’s soccer team remained undefeated after Saturday morning’s convincing 4-0 shut-out victory over Clarion.Four different players scored for the Golden Rams in what turned out to be an easy victory against a hapless Clarion team.

The win gives the women a record of 5-0 on the season and first place in the PSAC Eastern division. Remarkably, the Golden Rams have yet to allow a goal all season.

Jessie Heller’s second goal of the season at 23:22 proved to be the game-winner for the Golden Rams, who have yet to be seriously contested this season. Anaggressive defensive scheme stymied Clarion’s (1-5) offensive game plan. Golden Rams goalkeeper Heather Rinker was forced to stop only two shots on net, including a penalty shot which the senior stopped with ease.

Allison Edwards made it a 2-0 game in the final moments of the first half. With only seven seconds remaining, Kalyn Miller found Edwards in front of Clarion’s netfor an easy score. The assist moves Miller into third place all-time on the women’s soccer career helper list. For Edwards, it was her second goal of the season.

The women’s team closed outthe win in the second half with goals from Sophia Matangos and Danielle Gerz.

On Tuesday, the Golden Rams will visit Millersville for a PSAC Eastern division match-up.

The women will return home on Saturday to host Adelphi (NY) at 3:30 p.m. on South Campus field.
