The magic of summer is over; no more backyard barbeques or lounging under the hot sun. As the memories of the summer fade into the cool breeze of autumn, the prospect of returning to class is no longer an illusion. Fortunately, the enchantment doesn’t end with the onset of school as ascribed magician and illusionist, Mike Super, will be performing at Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall on the campus of West Chester University Friday, 7:30 p.m. on September 15th. Students and teachers are highly anticipating the talented and versatile performance of acclaimed magician Mike Super. Super, who’s been practicing magic since the young age of six, is best described as a fusion between performing arts, awe inspiring magic, and personal interactions; all guaranteed to amaze even the most unyielding nonbelievers. Super’s charisma, versatility, and undeniable talent, will take his audience on a roller coaster of emotions throughout the show, and instill them with a new appreciation and attitude for the art of magic.

The show is intended for universal appeal, featuring digital music, comedic jest, impressive effects, and, of course, disbelieving magic and illusions that will keep the audience captivated throughout the duration of the show. In only the first 15 minutes, Super will manifest snow from his bare hands, breathe life into a piece of paper, make an audience member levitate four and a half feet off the ground (with no cables), or physically fold a spectator into a Japanese show box like laundry day.

Super’s increasing national popularity has garnered many prestigious accolades. The readers of CA Magazine presented Super with their highest honor by naming him America’s 2003 Entertainer of the Year. Other awards include being named 2004 and 2003 Novelty Entertainer of the Year, 2003 Best Performing Artist and Best Male Entertainer of the year.

Forget your old perception of magicians, Mike Super intends to breakdown stereotypes and take his versatile magic in a totally new and unique direction. Through his natural ability to entertain and amaze, Super has become one of the most convincing illusionist in the country. The event is sure to be a truly enjoyable spectacle, leaving West Chester awestruck, and opening the audience’s mind to limitless imagination.
