On Friday, Sept. 16, West Chester University will be hosting its annual Comedy Blitz in Asplundh Concert Hall. Comedians this year include Buzz Sutherland, Warren B. Hall, and Eric O’Shea. Students and entertainers have described Buzz Sutherland as “one of the finest entertainers to enter the business.” For the last five years, he’s been awarded Comedian of the Year by the National Association of Campus Activities. NACA also presented him with the Entertainer of the Year award the last time it was given. He has performed his act on both MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour and HBO’s Comic Relief.
Warren B. Hall has definitely been around. Performing his act all over the United States as well as in Iraq and Kuwait for our troops, Warren has been called “Mr. International.” He has appeared in commercials, performed at colleges and universities as well as The Bob and Tom Show on the radio. His website describes him as having a style that “purposely avoids using the white vs. black angle, which has become all too popular with many mainstream black comics. Daring to be different, Warren chooses to focus on funny!”
And finally, Eric O’Shea shamelessly shares with his audience experiences from his own embarrassing childhood. He is described by his website as still being an “immature boy that wants to play, get appearsilly, and try to cope with this crazy thing we call life!” He has been nominated for National College Comedian of the Year twice, and he has appeared on NBC and VH-1.
There is a great line-up prepared, so if you want an evening of non-stop laughs, make sure you pick up a ticket! They are only $3.00 with student I.D.
