The men’s golf team was at the Challenge of Mystic Rock that ended on Monday. West Chester took third place overall, as Austin Mann shot a 150 to finish fifth individually to help the men place third. The Women’s team was at the East Stroudsburg Invitational and they placed second in the one day event, as Gabby Couture and Jenna Hopkins were tied for seventh individually having shot an 87.

The Men fielded five players to golf the Challenge of Mystic Rock. Austin Mann finished 5th with a 150, Griffith Basehore and Ryan Fogel were tied for 13th with a 155, Connor Lefever was tied for 16th with a 156, and finally Eric Slawter was tied for 27th with a 159. 

The third place finish for the team was a 614. The team winner was Concord University with a 611, and the individual winner was Sabastian Bendsen from Davis & Elkins College shooting a 143. The Women fielded four players as Gabby Couture and Jenna Hopkins finished tied for 7th with an 87, Nicole Cavalcante finished tied for 14th with a 95, and Nicole D’Urbano finished 21st with a 106. The team finished second, shooting a 375, falling behind only PSAC rival Kutztown as they shot a 331.

For the second time this season, the women placed second, having placed second in the Kutztown Spring Invitational in the beginning of April. For the men, this is their seventh third place finish. They also had a first place finish in the beginning of the season and they have had a couple of second place finishes along the way as well. 

Next for the Men is the NCAA Atlantic East Regionals from May 6-8 in West Virginia. The top three teams advance onto the NCAA Championships and the top two individual scorers also move on to the NCAA Championships.
