Whitney Hartshorne earned a school record after scoring 17 points as the Golden Rams also posted a school record with an all-time mark of 70 points in one contest after crushing the East Stroudsburg warriors 70-6 to finish out the season. The previous team record of 60 points had been set in the fall of 2004 against Delaware.
Hartshorne tied the school record of three trys in one game held by Rachel Fink and Giselle Gonzalez. Hartshorne converted a try in the first half, and then finished out the second half with three trys for her 17 point game.
The Golden Rams had just come out of the USA Rugby Women’s Collegiate Division I National Championships held at the University of Florida. WCU lost to Stanford University on the first round, but beat rival Princeton University in the consolation bracket for the second time this season.
The Golden Rams finish the season with a 10-5 overal record.
