The West Chester Lady Rams volleyball team continued their early season dominance against powerhouse Dowling to push their record to 8-0.So far, the Rams have been peerless. On Aug. 24 and 25, The Rams claimed the Holy Family tournament winning 12 sets overall while only losing two.

Last weekend, the Lady Rams did one better only surrendering a game fewer.

Throughout the first six games, West Chester outscored their opponents 592-440. Offensively, Kristen Decker has a team-high 72 kills. Setter Lisa Yeasted holds 202 of the team’s 218 assists. Defensively Jacqueline Vivanco leads the way with 104 digs.

Highlighting the early matches was a dominating 3-0-sweep victory over Dowling, who received pre-season Division II votes. Later in the day, the Rams knocked off Edinboro 3-1 to take the Wilmington Tournament title.

In the final two games, Yeasted recording another 32 assists to set her teammates.

In winning their early games in such dominance, The Lady Rams have climbed above early season expectations. To open the season, the Rams were picked second in the Eastern division just below East Stroudsburg with Lock Haven leading in the Western division. However, both favorites have sputtered out of the gate. East Stroudsburg has opened winless (0-2) and Lock Haven has already dropped seven games (1-7).

West Chester will hold its own tournament this weekend. The first conference game will answer any undecided question when they play East Stroudsburg on Sept. 11, 2007.

Following East Stroudsburg, they play three straight PSAC East road games to round out September in Kutztown, Shippensburg and Cheyney.
