West Chester University has been contacted by Playboy magazine to fill the pages of an upcoming issue with the beautiful women on campus. The magazine is not interested in coeds though. Rather they are looking for attractive faculty members willing to pose.Officials from the magazine will be visiting the campus to meet with perspective candidates on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Those interested in posing should bring head shots of themselves to the casting call.
One high ranking official for the school, who was instrumental in helping to bring the magazine to campus but wished to remain anonymous, said, “There was some debate over whether students would lose respect for their professors after seeing them naked. But we all agreed that was not possible.”
West Chester senior Topper Greenbriar said, “I am very excited. I hope they do public auditions so that the students can be privy to seeing the faculty pose for Playboy.”
Along with those students who are excited about the visit, there has been an outcry by some of the feminist groups on campus. Members have said that they are disgusted by the fact that any faculty or staff members would even consider posing because it is degrading.
Each year the magazine does an issue high-lighting the best student bodies on college campuses. This is the first time that the magazine has actually gone looking for a complete faculty-filled layout.
“If the issue sells well,” an official from the magazine said, “this could become another standard issue that is compiled each year.”
Other schools that Playboy will be visiting after West Chester include Kentucky State University and Mississippi Hills College.
Playboy plans to release the issue in early 2005.
