We’re closing in on the last week of another semester here at WCU, and it’s been quite a semester. On campus, we’re deep into a new construction project and when we come back in the spring we will see almost complete, and soon to be lived in dorms. 15 University Ave is open and used. We’re deep into the selection process for a new president after Madeleine Wing Adler retired, and have had Dr. Lamwers step in as interim president. Students were told they could no longer smoke on campus, and we’ve had local bomb scares. Frank Warren of Postsecret fame stopped by, and yet again, Repent America graced our campus with its presence.
Off campus, the Phillies won their second world series ever, and we watched an exciting presidential election, including two female candidates and the eventual winner, our first African American president.
It’s been an interesting couple of months.
To those of you who have successfully made it through your first semester, we say congratulations, good job, and get ready for many more to come. For those students who are celebrating their last fall or last semester at West Chester, even more congrats to you, good luck in the future. And to everyone in between, stick it out, it will be over before you know it.
We at The Quad wish you a happy and safe break. Happy holidays, and a happy and healthy new year.
